Inspection records show things aren't going smoothly during the mechanic strike at Northwest.

I was quite alarmed by this article. I mean, we've seen problems with maintenance done by regular, experienced airplane mechanics recently. It's quite scary to think of apparently insufficiently trained, sometimes incompetent mechanics being in charge of something so crucial to the well-being of crews and passengers... [Angst]

Ick. I'm flying NW in a few weeks. But it's a KLM flight to Europe -- KLM is separate from NW, right?
