Usually this is started by Kathrina, but I haven't seen her around recently. Still, there are Mormons who contribute to the discussion at Hatrack. What are some peoples thoughts this time around?

I liked yesterdays and thought some talks were extra powerful. Usually I don't enjoy talks aimed at the young women, but I thought the one about treating the body as sacred was good. It even touched on the question of Word of Wisdom along the same lines as was recently discussed here. Basically, a person who is not doing what they can to remain healthy is not following the spirit of the WofW.

There are still two more sessions to go.

From a non-mormon perspective...

Why not?

(Obviously you are not in the demographic, but other than that?)

The talks that impress me are ones about the sins of abusive husbands.

I was a child of an abusive father who is also abusive to his wife. Mo matter how long it's been it always gives me comfort yet at the same time I get very angry when I hear these talks. I'm angry because it's most likely that the talk is either preaching to the choir or falling on def ears. My dad, who teaches in his high priest quorum, will not attend or watch conference.
However, not getting worked up about who is or isn't listening is really the lesson I'm suppose to be getting out if it anyway.

imogen, because they are more like pep-rallies than informative. I suppose at the younger ages that is what gets their attention. It did have plenty of that as well, but it seemed to have more doctrinal information than usual.

I was really impressed with Elder Bednar's talk on mission preparation in Priesthood meeting. That sounds to me like it's destined to become a classic.
