I'm on my way out and haven't had the chance to really read up on this, but it's certainly an interesting ruling. Wonder where this will go.

I have been predicting for quite some time now that eventually smoking will be completely banned. Si la tendance se maintient...

Nothing surprising about it. It also makes sense, in a twisted sort of way. In a society where the State pays for your healthcare, the State has a vested interest in seeing you remain healthy, whether you want to or not. If this involves heavy legislation, so be it.

Or, actually, die young.

I heard, on an NPR report, that smokers SAVE Medicare and Social Security money by dying prematurely.

Only after they cost millions of dollars in cancer treatment and such.
