No doubt many of you know of the bonsai kittens hoax, which circulated for a while on the Internet.
I just got a horrified e-mail from my friend, explaining what it was and with an attached petition to put a stop to this practice.
The problem? This particular e-mail petition was started as a hoax by another friend of mine. And I couldn't stop laughing when I got the e-mail, because it had obviously circulated far and wide. With my resident cat-lover looking over my shoulder.
Oops.
Now honestly, I think the joke is in bad taste. I think the petition hoax is hilarious. But I wonder: is it wrong to find something that got so many people emotionally worked-up and angry and indignant funny (the e-mail, rather than the site itself)?

I think you may want to make it bonsaikitten.com, not bonsaikittens.com.

Don't feel guilty. Watching uptight people get all worked up over nothing is one of the pleasures of life.
