Wow...that was an incredible episode. I missed last week's episode so I didn't know Book was gone. But those guys with the little thingy that made you bleed everywhere... [Eek!]

That was the creepiest thing ever. Who were they? When are we going to learn more about them?!? I'm curious!!!

So Book left in between last episode and this one? How come they didn't show him leaving? Can you just tell me a little bit about the hands of blue guys? They are the main workers of the alliance? Why are they so evil and mysterious? How come the killing-thingy doesn't affect them? And why do they wear blue gloves? Just a little information, please?

Book didn't leave, just wasn't in this one. And there were a lot of storylines that were left unanswered when the show was prematurely canceled.

Book's not gone for good, just stopping off at an abbey somewhere to get his religion fix, or something. He'll be back in the next episode.

Book is at the Bathgate Abbey, meditatin on the wonders of his rock garden. (I have just about every episode memorized.)

I like Simon in this episode, I think we get to see him at his best in Ariel and Objects in Space. Simon finds himself out of his depth so often, but he always knows where he stands in terms of his sister, and where doctoring is concerned. I think he DOES have the potential to be a criminal mastermind, but he doen't have the heart.

Jayne, on the other hand, makes me so sad. I really like Jayne, and it makes it hard for me to watch this episode and see him betray Simon and River. I do love Mal's reaction, though.

And the blue guys were one of those storylines? Do we learn about them in the movie? I'm really curious...

I really liked Jayne's bit at the end, in the airlock/cargo thingy. If he hadn't asked Mal to lie about where he'd gone/what happened to him, I doubt Mal would have let him back on the ship. That scene has relevance in a lot of the later interactions between the two of them.

Speaking of which, one of my favorite bits from the Serenity trailer:
Mal: "Do you wanna run this boat?"
Jayne: "Yes!"
Mal: "Uh, well... you can't."

Yeah, that part at the end was really well-written and acted. When Jayne said "Can you make something up for me? Don't tell them what I did..." That was extremely good acting on Jayne's part. You could tell he was sincere and he wanted the crew to think well of him. It was kind of sad too...I felt bad for him. That whole episode was just amazing and I'm just starting to digest it.

I have a love/hate relationship with this episode. I have to cover my eyes for the scary bits. I think it's horrible, what happens to the victims of the blue-handed people. I also hate to see Jayne betray them.

However, I love the rest, especially that final scene in the airlock and Simon showing his medical skills.

I haven't seen the movie, but in the Serenity Comic, something very interesting and additional is revealed about those who go Two By Two Hands of Blue - namely, the fact that it isn't just their hands that are blue, and that the color on their hands doesn't appear to be from gloves.

And I figured as much because why would they have blue gloves on? That would be silly, and rather pointless, plotwise.

SCARY!!! Probably my favorite episode, besides Objects in Space. To see the Psi Corps guys killing their own people... wow.

Ariel is good, but my three favorites have to be Out of Gas, War Stories, and Objects in Space. Ariel is a very, very close forth though.

To be honest, "Objects In Space" didn't do it as much for me as it apparently did for most of you.

) and wants to see it opening night or opening weekend. Since I don't know any Hatrackers seeing it opening night, I'd be okay with waiting.

In any case, I probably wouldn't mind seeing it twice . . . [Wink]

My favorites in order would probably be:

Objects in Space
Ariel
Jaynestown
Out of Gas

Jaynestown is just hilarious, I love it so much. Ariel is great for advancing the plot and... well Objects in Space is just amazing. Out of Gas gives a lot of really great backstory. So that's why I like em.
