A friend of mine posted this as a bulleting in MySpace. I just thought it was hilarious.
quote:
Welcome,

Toby is the cutest little bunny on the planet. Unfortunately, he will DIE on November 6th, 2006 if you don.t help. I rescued him several months ago. I found him under my porch, soaking wet, injured from what appeared to be an attack from an alley cat. I took him in, thinking he had no chance to live from his injuries, but miraculously, he recovered. I have since spent several months nursing him to health. Toby is a fighter, that.s for sure.

Unfortunately, on November 6th, 2006, Toby will die. I am going to eat him. I am going to take Toby to a butcher to have him slaughter this cute bunny. I will then prepare Toby for a midsummer feast. I have several recipes under consideration, which can be seen, with some pretty graphic images, under the recipe section.

I don’t want to eat Toby, he is my friend, and he has always been the most loving, adorable pet. However, God as my witness, I will devour this little guy unless I sell 100,00 copies of my book, Save Toby: Only you have the power to save toby. You can help this poor, helpless bunny’s cause by purchasing the book online at Amazon.com by clicking HERE, or by purchasing merchandise at the Savetoby.com online store.

Here is the current status of donations for Toby, as of June 30th, 2005. Thanks to everyone who has contributed!

Toby has been "about to die" for several years now. That bunny is getting tough, he'd better eat it soon.

And, what a wimp. Can't he slaughter his own bunny? It's not hard...

I like how the guy makes sure his ransom note updates are logical - why is he killing the bunny in November for a *midsummer* feast? [Razz]

Oh well, shall we make peace? I'm in no mood for rabbit today, anyway... [Big Grin]

Posted by Synesthesia (Member # 4774) on :

Ok. No one would want to eat mine anyway. Not only does he spend most of the day laying in his litter box, but he's not that fat. He's on a healthy diet of mostly hay and fresh vegetables and not enough pellets to make him fat and juicy.

Huh, rabbit on a healthy diet?! o_O Oh well, guess there's much I don't know about rabbits. Does he have a name, by the way? Like Bugs Bunny or something?! [Wink]

Posted by Synesthesia (Member # 4774) on :

His name is Bernie... Rabbits only need a small amount of pellets, endless timothy hay, water and fresh greens. None of that junk that they sell for rabbits at supermarkets.
He also gets a tiny piece of banana sometimes as he likes those best. He used to like grapes, but now he doesn't. He eats way healthier than I do, but he'd eat chocolate if I let him so sometimes I tease him with a cookie or something and say that he can't eat it because he's a rabbit.

Whoa. I don't think I could handle living at your house, Syn.

Syn, you're the second person I know with a rabbit named Bernie!

Posted by Synesthesia (Member # 4774) on :

How funny.
That's the name he came with. And since I had just finished Bernie Mac's new book and since he went from being Beatrix to Bernie, I decided to keep it.
It fits him.

Anyone ever hear a rabbit make a noise with its mouth? (in other words, thumping doesn't count)

There are many bunnies up in the Salt Lake City mountains. Next time I go hike just up above the Hoggle Zoo and see one I'll name it Harvey. [Wink]

Yeah, our evil rabbit used to growl, screech, and squeal anytime someone opened her cage. She was vicious.

I had a pet rabbit. She would make "yummy noises" when I fed her something particularly tasty.

She especially liked bananas.

I read the thread title and thought the same thing.

He can do to Toby what he wants (even tho it's a hoax). Rabbit stew tastes pretty good. Sloppy joes using rabbit meat is good, too.

Fried rabbit tastes pretty identical to fried chicken. At least, I didn't KNOW I was eating rabbit until someone told me halfway through....

(thought I couldn't place which part of the chicken this was.....)

It's a bit late. However, I would like to let yall know that Toby died. Last monday he wandered out into the middle of the 401/403 in Ontario, Canada. It was a construction zone. I had barriers on either side and a big rig right behind me. He jumped right under my tire.

Oh, if you guys don't send me 10 bucks, I'm totally killing this cute little rooster named Foghorn Leghorn I found. That tasty, succulent rooster, with his plump legs and nice wings . . .

*disappears into the kitchen*

Erm . . . actually, scratch that. Anyone want a drumstick?
