I made my own nation and it got huge then it was deleted, so I got annoyed and quit.
(Yay! 1776, it's my Independence Post!)

Yeah, Nation States was popular here maybe two years ago or so. I remember playing it while I was dating Roger, and it's been over two years now since we broke up.
Maybe I'll start a new nation, for fun. I'm very busy these days, though, so I'd probably forget to log in frequently and the peasants would be rioting or something.

Lyrhawn ---I'd set off some fireworks for you but I'm likely to burn my house down!
Happy Independence day!

I had a lot of fun with that game for awhile, but the extreme nature of it (I defy anyone to actually make decisions and remain a long-term moderate) started to turn me off. Then I got too many player-created issues in a row that were just so absurd that I refused to dignify them by answering, and then I stopped playing.

I stopped playing about two years a go because it was boring, and the decisions thrown at me seemed to try to get me to go the extreme opposite of what my nation was. I agree with Verily that it was hard to be a moderate.

Out of curiosity, has anyone read the book that the site is advertising?

Yes. I remember reading it, but I remember almost nothing else about it. Which probably means it was neither astoundingly good nor astoundingly bad. And (obviously) not very memorable.

I've read Jennifer Government and thought it was great - it's an extremely easy read, too (which, sometimes, is good).
It's sort of about capitalism gone wrong, so a lot of people may not be able to get over that fact and enjoy it as a funny book.

Yeah, I've read Jennifer Government as well. And was quite entertained.
My nation of 6+ Billion people happily invites any newcomers to the region of Yggdrasil. 'Tis a peaceful and collected place.
