I've been here for about 5 months or so and finally went to the "chat" link to see what's up with it. I looked in faq and don't see it listed, so I'm asking you guys. Is anyone ever over there?

Yes. If you want someone to chat with you, it's usually best to do it when people are on and start a mayfly thread saying, "Come meet me in the chatroom! I'm bored!"
