Wow - that was great. I liked it. [Smile]

A good one:
quote:
10. Have at least one good dress-up outfit. A dress code, or suggested attire on an invitation, is not an instrument of The Man. Own one nice dress, or one reasonable suit, or one sharp pair of pants and chic sweater -- something you can clean up nice in for a wedding or a semi-formal dinner. You don't have to like it, but if the invitation requests it, put it on. Every night can't be poker night.

I've got less than a year left to enjoy extended adolescence! Woohoo!

I'm 12 years behind the times with some of those. I'm terrible about writing thank you notes. It's a secret shame.

Not anymore.

We had almost all of the wedding thank-you notes written, but not addressed, before the move. I haven't yet found the box we packed them in.

*hangs head in shame*

Oh, heck, weddings = one year.

That's what Banna and I are counting on for the present, anyway. [Big Grin]

What ELSE are you two going to lose??? LOL

Do not walk along and then stop suddenly. It is not just you on the street; account for that fact.
Why is that so few people get this? And I would add "Don't congregate in aisles or doorways. You're in the way. MOVE!"

Hey, Kat. That #10 rule you list in your first post...

...also a good idea because that gives your family something to dress you in for your funeral.

I mean, ya never know.....

Hmm...some of these are great, but 8 and 9? Man, I love hearing about people's crazy dreams, and I hate heels.

Yeah, I don't agree with some of those.

I took the heel one to mean "If you're going to be wearing heels, know how to walk in them, dammit!". I hardly ever wear heels, and when I do, they are chunky, low ones.

I liked this list a lot. I do a bunch of them already, but there's some I need to work on. The thank you notes are the biggest, I think.

I never wear heels. Well, almost never. I figured after I'd had my first child, it was no longer necessary for me to wear heels. Though what those two have in common, I'm not sure. It seemed logical at the time.

I'm really curious, though, for women who DO wear heels, how can you stand it? It is so uncomfortable I don't know how anyone can stand it.

I'm like xnera; if I wear them, they're chunky ones that also raise the front half of my foot. I find these to be just about as comfortable as flats.

some of those are really stupid.

Nobody is going to make a tacky joke about being well dressed when SARS finally strikes?

And I thought I knew you people.

Number 17 is so me. No trashcans, no Kleenex (not, to be fair, that I use Kleenex over the natural course of things even if I had some), and soda cans and bowls for ashtrays.

Grow up.
No.

Outside work, my time is my own and I will continue to do whatever I damn well please with it.

Besides which, a number of those rules are mere common courtesy. I almost never show up uninvited to visit, let alone to sleep.

Fair enough. You're only 24, after all. [Smile]

I'm still no good at thank-you notes, and 20% is the high end of my tipping *wince*. But I've got a good start on the other ones. It kind of comes naturally as you slowly acquire more responsibility for taking care of yourself. :)

I refuse to ever wear heels. I like number 6 because I only just recently got an ATM card so I always had enough cash on me and it would piss me off to no end whenever I was out and no one else actually had money. Sadly I've had a few occassions where I didn't have any money when we were out to eat, but I'm not as bad as others that I know.

I generally give 15% for a tip unless it was really good service, but I've still got four more years to learn to spend a bit more. [Wink]
