ACtually 2 questions. Thanks for the help guys!
1) How hard is it to install a internal dvd drive on a pc?
2) I want to be able to play dvds first, and burn Cd's... it doesnt have to burn dvds.. not sure if that second part is possible but yeah. Whats the cheapest one? Please.

I like to check http://www.edealinfo.com They track good deals and mail-in rebates and stuff. I've seen some good deals on dvd burners.

I don't think it's too tough to install... as long as you know what to plug in where [Smile]

If you are replacing another cdrom drive, it's very simple to install, you will just use the same cables that currently hook up your cdrom drive with the new drive, and screw it all into place. You might want to buy new.

raven's got the right link for what you want, though a DVD burner will do the same and doesn't cost much more. And you can burn DVDs with it. Optical drive installation is almost foolproof now. The hardest part is screwing with jumpers, but more often than not you don't have to worry about that. Especially not if you're replacing a drive. If you're adding one, you'll have to make sure the drive is set up as a slave (Or with cable select, which is more complex than it's worth to explain over the internet) or your computer will have...issues. You normally can't insert the cables backwards (If it doesn't just go in smoothly, don't push hard, turn the connector over and try it again). The best rule to remember is that the red stripe on the IDE cable (The wide, flat cable) always goes to the side marked with a "1" on the Drive. Power connection can't go in backwards no matter how hard you push. Yeah. Anyway, if it's installedProperly, Windows will just recognize it and set it up automatically. You'll need to install some burning software if you get a DVD burner or something less than Windows XP. XP has native CD burning capabilities.
