Just wondering. It seems to me sometimes that whenever I am on a forum I'm the only one from LA (lower Alabama). Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :
Belle's in Birmingham, isn't she? And AKA is there, too, right?

Belle is not in Birmingham, per se, but close enough for government work.
I got family in LA. A cousin in Andalusia, and my father gets sent to Rucker a lot to teach classes.

I'm not from Alabama, but I've been there. It's next to Georgia, right? Just one time zone over? A cop pulled me over because I made a left turn when the sign said "No Left Turn Between 4 PM and 6 PM", and it was 5:30. I showed him my watch and explained that I just came from Georgia and didn't know to reset my watch to local time.
Do you think he let me off the hook? . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . He did! Posted by Tatiana (Member # 6776) on :
Yes, I'm from Birmingham, welcome! There are some from Hunstville, too, I'm pretty sure. Glad to have a neighbor around the place!

My nephew just moved to Alabama within the last year, to be a policeman there.
That is where I first heard of anyone using the term "L.A." to mean "Lower Alabama" (he's not in lower Alabama -- more like central).
