quote:

Rocketplane Limited Inc. Vice President David Urie told the Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority Wednesday the company will be the first in the nation with flights open to the public.

Spacecraft will be launched from Oklahoma's spaceport near Burns Flat by early 2007 with tickets costing up to $200,000.

...

Rocketplane plans to build three crafts, each launching at least 50 times annually.

How cool [Cool] I guess it's time to start saving up the quarters.

My money is still on Burt Rutan and his crew out in Mojave.

I thought that Virgin Galactic was planning to have suborbital flights using Burt Rutan's technology as early as 2006.

If I had that kind of money I'd be on the first flight.

Does this get routed through the FAA? or will there be a new administration? The FSTA: Federal Space Travel Administration.

Tracking ships in low orbit is a bit beyond the FAA though, that's more like NORAD's department, or NOAA.
