There is absolutely nothing that is better than having a healthy body. Feeling OK is -- in and of itself -- amazing. Feeling good is so mindfraggly overwhelming that there is no way to express it.

I agree with that!

I am definitely overwhelmed each day, as I feel better and better.

If you include the mind in it, we agree. If not, "healthy body" is utterly pointless when your mind is troubled. Ugh, if only I didn't have a mind! [Grumble] [Wall Bash]

And if you really DO include the mind in it, sometimes there's nothing you can do to calm it, to make it "healthy". But that's another story.

One thing better than a healthy body, I think, is a healthy mind. As a nurse, I deal with people who have all sorts of disabilities. If you ask someone who is quite physically limitted, but who has a good attitude and a good mind, if he feels that his life is worthwhile, the answer is just about always "yes!" But if you ask that same question of someone whose body is able but whose mind is lost, she will usually either answer with despair, or (more commonly) not answer at all, since she does not have the capacity to understand and to formulate an answer.

Think of Christopher Reeve (rotten body, good mind) and Terry Schiavo (healthy body, absent mind) and you may start to understand my perspective.

Yes, yes, the mind is better!

But to be honest, my mind is a lovely piece of flesh. Quite strong and quite good at pumping out words and thoughts and words. It was merely my body disintegrating on me that prompted this "deep" thought of mine, that having health is amazing.

Aw, thank you so much! I deserve the hell I am going through; it is an offspring of my stupidity. But at the moment, I am fine, and it feels so great!
