Oh my. This is just so pathetic. And yucky.

"GEORGETOWN, Texas - Molly Daniels spent weeks surfing the Internet, gathering information for a bizarre and grisly plot of deception. She learned how to burn a human body beyond recognition. She sought clues on ways to deceive arson investigators, and took meticulous steps to create a new identity for her husband.
Daniels then dug up a woman's corpse, staged a fiery car accident to fake her husband's death, and had him re-emerge as her new boyfriend. Authorities say it was all to collect a $110,000 life insurance policy while hiding her husband, Clayton Daniels, from the cops."

Okay, one has to wonder if she'd put that kind of effort into honestly earning some money...

Although, I suppose, nothing brings a couple together like planning a faked death... Could really put the spark back in their relationship, I suppose. Light a few fires, so to speak.

"This was about keeping our family together." [Eek!]

And now both parents are headed for prison.

I've heard of tinder loving care, but this is a new one. [Big Grin]

'Cause, ya know, it's really important to keep someone who's plead guilty to sexual assult around you and your children. Definitely the best possible environment, yep.

Exactly, ElJay.

And the poor old 81 year old woman. Of course she did have anyone to mourn her, she was old! Dig 'er up!

But why a woman's corpse? That's what I can't figure out. You'd think that if she'd go to that much trouble, she'd find a man's body somewhere.

Let's say it wasn't a well thought-out plan.

Molly Daniels, 22, insisted the plan wasn't motivated by greed, but rather was a desperate attempt to keep her husband out of prison stemming from a sexual assault charge.

"It was about keeping our family together," she tearfully told jurors.

I love how she expects the family to stay together perfectly when the husband admits to having committed sexual assault.

People baffle me.

Oh, come on people. Can we all truly say that we've never used a corpse to fake the death of a loved one in order to receive the massive insurance payback? Let he who hath not sinned...

Well, yeah, but most of us at least waited a month or so and moved to a new town before introducing our “dead” spouse as our new boyfriend. I mean really, how stupid did she think the police/insurance investigators/neighbors were?

I don't know why you question the logic of someone who's willing to go through with something like this of trying to keep her sex predator husband. Seems to follow a consistent line of thought, in my opinion.

If Elmore Leonard had written this storyline into a book, somebody would have reviewed it: "Leonard has lost his grip on reality in his effort to be funny and clever." Because of course things like this can ONLY happen in the real world.

Or I should say consistant line of sanity.

She's either very stupid and should be stepped on, hard or she's very evil and should be stepped on, hard.

I will point out that women stay in worse relationships for equally absurd reasons, but that doesn't make it any more right.

Perhaps a bit more understandable, but still not right.

Moving to a different neighborhood couldn't have hurt, either.
