Yes, I'm currently Serenity-obsessed. I'm also trying not to be annoyed that Shmuel is, right now, watching an advance screening in Boston. Grumble, grumble...

So, to keep myself occupied, I'm making a Firefly soundtrack for myself. Problem is, there isn't one. FOX has hinted at one on the way, but no luck yet. I have MP3s of the theme song, closing song, and a lot of the show's music (with dialogue, of course, it was all captured from the DVDs) and I'd like to build my own soundtrack with some of these and with songs that sound like they should have been there.

The main style seems to be Celtic Irish, with lots of slide guitar and fiddle. Can anyone suggest songs or artists I can look for? I posted this on the Serenity movie site and got suggestions for the following, which are perfect:

Long Journey Home soundtrack, anything performed by the Irish Film Orchestra
"At the Forest Fountain" from "Cosmopoly" by Andreas Vollenweider

What else? I like this type of music but never bothered to seek it out so I'm ignorant in what's available. I got a lot of great advice here on acoustic guitar music and country, how about Firefly music?
