Oh, I appreciate the innovations in tech and in some possible future, they may be viable weapons platforms.

But that's nowhere in the near future.

At least they are making the effort to be inovative! C'mon, 15 years from now when the Japanese have Gundams and Mobile Suits with Anti-Panzer rockets and anti-infantry gatling guns the Americans are gonna be like: "Huh? [Confused]

in all seriousness the armour wont be plastic when its war rdy. It'll be some kind of Titanium-Spent uranium alloy or whatever the densest, hardest metal that is still workable is.

I don't think we'll ever see actual "walkers" of this sort at all though, they'd have far too many weak points with the legs being as long as they are. The center of gravity should be ideally located closer to the ground and centered on the chassis for it to be effective, otherwise it would be too easy to make it fall over.

If this sort of stuff ever gets made I think it will be more in the form of a tank/walker hybrid.

Eventually as industrial processes get more advanced it'll get to the point where its feasible to have it more mobile with the legs rather then the treads. Molbility plus firepower supiority is what will make G-Mrk I the ultimate battelfield weapon.

It's just within the realm of possibility.

However, the technology would have to become a lot more stable to provide any meaningful benefit on the battlefield.

As it stands, the thing is a slow moving target and no redeeming functional value.
