A number of you have expressed interest in the NASA JWST project that I’m on and asked to be kept in the loop with anything. Just got this email today with this link included. Sort of an interesting article about the grinding and polishing of the mirrors. I don’t really have anything to do with this part of it since we’re verification of software, but still thought you might find this enjoyable. Happy Surfing.

So is it nobody wanted to see this or is everyone mad at me?

Just didn't see it, myself. Glad to see the project is advancing.

Let's hope those mirrors don't suffer a similar defect as Hubble [Wink]

Hubble suffered from military contract syndrome. Perkin-Elmer offered a higher bid, but without testing the two mirrors together (they claimed that gravity would deform the mirrors and make any test invalid).

I think it was Kodak that gave a lower bid including testing the mirrors as a unit, but were turned down. I wonder why?
