Anonymous Donors Pledge $3 Million To 'Enterprise' for a fifth season

Wow….. I like Enterprise, but I’m not going to give money to a show

Is that in dollars or latium?

Slips, strips, or bars?

Please, Dan. It's self-sealing stem bolts. And you call yourself a Trekkie.

Now that they've finally finished with all that Xindi and time travel crap, the 4th season has actually been pretty good. I hope they get a fifth season, but how often does a fairly large network reverse a decision to cancel a show? Not very often, as far as I know.

Well, there is precedent when it comes to Star Trek. And I bet a donation is even better than a bunch of people writing in.

They did it for the Original Star Trek.

Although three million is pretty re-frikkin-diculous.

*relieved donors not paying with biomemetic gel*

If I had money to blow like that, I'd give it to Terry Gilliam so he could work on either his Don Quixote movie or "Good Omens."

Just think how many cloned pets that money could buy.

As production money goes, that's not a lot.

As bribes, though, it'd go a lot further.

Just think if fans had been able to come up with that sort of bribe money for Fox executives to get them to keep "Firefly" on the air...

Beren, darling, you did remember to pay the electric bill before you donated, didn't you?

[Wink]

Nope. I was hoping we could move in together. [Wink]

I'm going to have to watch that show on DVD. I watched most of the first season, but moved in the middle of the second season, and never figured out when and where it was shown after that.

That is the craziest, most incredibly cool thing I've heard all day.

(By extrapolation, this does mean that my day was filled with crappy news and nothing interesting. But still!)

I seriously doubt this will work. Which is sad, because Enterprise was just starting to get interesting again.

I worry about the world when people are willing to donate $3 million to keep a television show on the air while we struggle to fund basic charities that help ease our social ills...

No. Let them cancel it, and in two or three years they can hand over the franchise to the guys who did FarScape. Better yet, let them wait seven years and turn it back over to Moore, who is kicking ass with Battlestar Galactica.
