(Edit: I won! Scroll down to the new posts) March is National Novel Editing Month (pursuant to NaNoWriMo). Is anyone else from Hatrack editing a first or second draft novel? You don't have to read my novel, but we need buddies in order to validate our 50 hours editing goal. Which I intend to do as 2 hours per day Monday-Saturday in March. I'm turning 35 in June and I have a goal to submit to a publisher or agent before then.

good luck pooka, I hope you get it submitted on time. Sadly I didn't have time for nanowrimo, so no novel to edit.

I might do this. Goodness knows I need to edit (slash and rewrite) and fifty solid hours might just do the trick.
However, fifty solid hours might eat horribly into my essay-writing and studying time...
I'll let you know in a few days.

I would if it wasn't in March... I don't have time to sleep never mind edit my novel.
Good luck with yours!

I came *this* close to quitting at 18 hours. 50 hours is a lot harder than it sounds. I was all psyched to catch up St. Patrick's day but wound up spending my afternoon in the ER. I'm at 28 hours now and it will be tight, but I know I can do it.

I won! Nanowrimo had about six thousand winners. Nanoedmo had 100, last I checked.

Good for you, pooka!
That's a lot of work, you should be proud.
You are one of my favorite jatraquernodes.

Thanks, guys, though the novel isn't done being edited. I thought 50 hours sounded like doo dah, but it was tough. Oh man, I was going to edit and forgot what I wanted to say (someone dialed a wrong number at 7:54 a.m. )
Oh, yeah. Something I liked from the Jonah bonus features: "You never really finish, you just run out of time."
