If you knew that tonight was your last dinner, and you could have any meal you want (real food here, not like, water from the fountain of youth or what not) what would it be?

I would plan on KFC Chicken breast.
Spaghetti, and marinated chicken in the sauce.
2 square inches of salmon, with lemon pepper, and a tangy orange sauce.
Mashed potatoes, homemade, not the instant crap, with brown gravy, and seasoning.
Steak tips.
A hot peach with ice cream. My goodness, a peach would make a last meal last an eternity.
And a slice of havarti, swiss, and pastrami.

Jamie never tells me what she would want her last meal to be.

She's afraid of why you want to know.

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

She shouldn't be. I would think me preparing that meal would be enough of a hint to call the police, and file for divorce.

Skirt steak and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese.

Any meal you prepare WOULD be my last meal.

Or kill you first.

Good point. She WOULD do that.

He's going to end up killing himself because he'll eat chicken that's been left out on the counter for 5+ hours.

Ugh.

I stand by my postion that it was only 3 hours, and that the caffiene I guzzled down after either mutated the disease into super powers, or killed it.

We shall see in the morning.

Something out of season.

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

If you spew, I'm not cleaning up the mess.

I'd consider any illness caused by the chicken as self inflicted.

If I spew, it will be on you. Now stop derailling this thread!

Aren't they adorable?

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

Only when you stop eating food that's been left out for two or more hours.

"If you were any other (wo)man, I would kill you were you stand."

Now, if anyone gets the quote, 10 points for you.

Something out of season.
Like the old story of the man who, when told he could choose his last dinner, asked for strawberries in the middle of winter? When they told him that strawberries wouldn't be in season for another 5 months, he shrugged and said, "Eh, I can wait." [ROFL]

Actually, mack, you can eat most things up to 4 hours. You just can't re-refridgerate after 2 hours. 5, though, is definitely trash time.

Mmmmm, 3 hour parmasean chicken.... ::drool::

Now, lets hear some amazingly good lists!

Sounds like something a Klingon would say. Either Worf or the guy who came to the Enterprise on exchange.

Gnocchi al fungi made by a fabulously talented Italian.
Boiled squash and zuchinni, lightly salted.
A chunk of extra-veille mimolette.
Water with fresh lemon slices.
Small, buttery croissants.
And a pain-au-chocolat fresh from a little French bakery.

Good call, Shigosei. Worf to Picard, Star Trek: First Contact.

Posted by Ryuko (Member # 5125) on :

I know it... I just don't know from where. Gimme a second.

Yeah, Worf said that. In the one where they took his hat. Right?

Posted by Eaquae Legit (Member # 3063) on :

I dunno about hats. Picard's lead-in line was "If I didn't know better, I'd say those were the words of a coward." Or close enough to that.

I love how my threads get derailled like none other by myself and my wife's bickering. [Wink]

Posted by Eaquae Legit (Member # 3063) on :

You just like saying "my wife."

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

Nothing wrong with that.

Posted by Eaquae Legit (Member # 3063) on :

I never said there was. I still enjoy tossing "my fiance" into conversation, and I imagine I will till it becomes "my husband."

I can't ever see or hear the word fiance without hearing Holly Hunter's voice in Raising Arizona saying 'fee-yans'.

For starters:

Wood oven roasted artichoke hearts stuffed with mascarpone cheese, with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar from Pangea.

Vegetable curry puffs dipped in tamarind sauce from Sticky Rice.

Soup:

West African Peanut Butter and Butternut Squash soup garnished with pomegranate

Entree:

Yellow Curry Tofu and Pad Thai mixed together from Little Thai House. It's cheap, but man is it good.

Dessert:

Bayou Bottom Sundae from ABC (organic toffee bar with a chocolate layer covered in chocolate sauce, some vanilla ice cream, and drizzled with granola.

My last meal would be filet of Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Posted by Jay (Member # 5786) on :

Interesting. Well, I guess mine would be a trip to Texas Road house for their cowboy cut sirloin.

I hate thinking of last meals. My favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip. Timothy McVey’s last meal was a pint of mint chocolate chip ice cream. So now anytime I have my favorite ice cream I have to think of that butt munch.

Fresh fuzzy apricot, sinful slab of good-quality dark chocolate, and a fresh toasty baguette.

Glass of chilled, bright muscadine wine.

Mmmmm ...
