So, our first nine have gone pretty well, but what to do for a tenth? Ideas (suitable for a student budget), anyone?

We'll be shooting in the dark without more info. If you want something different than previous dates you'll have to brief us as to your dating history.

It's important this go well. Bad dates can kill a monkey.

Agree with Punwit-need more info.

10 and you’re asking what to do? Isn’t this past the dating and into a relationship thing yet? Not that you don’t go out and what not and have dates. I’d think it would be natural by now and you’d know what she likes to do and not do. Get what I’m saying? Or are you trying to make this something special because it’s #10? And is this #10 coming before Valentines Day? You’ve got that to worry about!!

Go star gazing in an open field. Bring a bottle of cheap wine, a Tony Bennet CD, and a quilt to snuggle in. Leave the monkey at home though.

The number ten was chosen as an arbitrary number larger than five. I'm not exactly sure what number we're on.

OK, yes, I guess we're into the relationship stage now. And I'm confused! I've never been here before! Help! [Angst]

Posted by Brinestone (Member # 5755) on :

I'm thinking you should probably propose.

Just kidding, of course.

Posted by Jay (Member # 5786) on :

Well, cool. Have fun enjoy. Be natural. What’s to worry about?
Other then Valentine’s Day of course!

Don't ask me...I just failed to get a first date. Again. [Frown]

What does she like? What sort of area do you live in?

Have you cooked for her yet? Garunteed to produce a passionate female [Smile]

Maybe we should play the Six Rejections game... [Big Grin]

I maintain the position that Valentine's Day is a silly American custom, imposed by your commercial-industrial complex, and not to be supported by sensible European males. I'll tell you on the fifteenth how well this position survives the test of battle. [Big Grin]

Cooking, yes, good idea. I make a mean moussaka, if I say so myself.

Strip monopoly, baby.

Posted by Paul Goldner (Member # 1910) on :

Strip SOMETHING should be every date. Whether monopoly, poker, or just "Hey baby, I'll strip you if you strip me."

I apologize...

Posted by Jay (Member # 5786) on :

Hummm…. Yeah. Don’t try that thing about Valentine’s Day on her if you’d like an 11th date. All men will agree with you about Valentine’s Day, but all women expect to be made special. So……. Either make her feel special or you’re going to feel not so special.

On second thought, maybe it is not a good idea to get dating advice from a bunch of guys who are sitting at home on a Saturday night. [Razz]

Posted by Teshi (Member # 5024) on :

If you're somewhere cold, go night skating outside, if you a) can skate and b) she likes skating.

I love skating at night.

Posted by twinky (Member # 693) on :

I claim extenuating circumstances. Maybe I'll offer to run the Six Rejections game so I don't have to participate....

Teshi, skating is a great idea. [Smile]

"All men will agree with you about Valentine’s Day, but all women expect to be made special."

And which group would you be speaking for, Jay? All men, or all women? Cause, as a woman who feels that Valentines day is a frivolus waste of time and money, I'd like to remind you that you cant speak for everyone.

twinky, if you ever have the chance to go skating on the Ottawa canal at night, I highly recommend it. It's quieter than in the day, and there's so much space...!

And I get to do it this week!!! [Big Grin]

Posted by twinky (Member # 693) on :

Duly noted. If I'm ever presented with such an opportunity, I'll be sure to take it. [Smile]

Diamonds make me itch. What a racket.

Dave and I have a standing joke about the local "Galleria of Jewelry" and how to make me nauseated most quickly.

CT, really?

Jenni is allergic to apples...to the malic acid in them, really...they hyperexcite her metabolism so that she goes mantic for about 15 min...then she crashes.

Basicaly, she gets drunk off of them, then passes out.

Talk about a fun night... [Taunt]

Rats, Beren! why do you have to live so far away. Your idea sounded absolutely lovely.

*pauses*

But you're in the big city. It might be difficult to see the stars.

*pauses some more*

You tricksy thing! You didn't mean to stargaze at all, did you?

[Eek!]

[Razz]

[Big Grin]

Guess what we're doing this Valentine's day. [Razz]

*bats eyelashes flirtatiously*

Oh wait - can I still bat my eyelashes flirtatiously even if I don't wear eyeshadow and mascara?

*ponders this dilemma with furrowed brow*

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

You can if you've been gifted with naturally long lashes. And the wonderful thing about the internets, is we can simply assume you have been. [Big Grin]

Posted by Shan (Member # 4550) on :

rivka - you are my perpetual life-saver! [Big Grin]

*bats prodigiously and with great abandon*

The BOYS are always gifted with long lashes.

*glares at nathan*

is she active? Maybe something like a bike ride...particularly if you have a good nature trail in your area.

Bowling can also be fun. You have a chance to talk, but you also have something else to do.

Of course, once you move to the "relationship" stage, you don't always have to "go out" to be with eachother. You can curl up on a couch and watch a DVD together.

*stares into eyes*

*swoons*

[Embarrassed]

Posted by Shan (Member # 4550) on :

Rivka! I knocked him out!

Is this a bad thing?

*giggles*

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

I think that depends on what plans you had.

Feel like trying the Prince (Princess?) Charming routine?

Posted by Shan (Member # 4550) on :

Hmmm - as long as he doesn't croak like a toad, it should be okay - oh! wrong story!

Wake up, Sleeping Handsome!

*kisses one finger and touches the tip of Beren's nose chastely*

[Razz]

Posted by Beren One Hand (Member # 3403) on :

[Sleep]

*pretends to stay asleep so he can hear the words "Sleeping Handsome" again.*

Sleeping Handsome

Sleep tight, me boyo - don't let the bedbugs bite - or the scorpions, or whatever wierd bugs you have in your part of the world. [Big Grin]

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

I would stay asleep until she forgot the "chastely" part of it, myself... [Big Grin]

Tell her "Math is weird." when asked about what happened to the other eleven.
