Why did President George W. Bush refer to her as "Condy" during a speech? What's wrong with "Condoleezza"? (Misspelt?)

Because she goes by "Condi?"

Am I missing something in your question?

Condoleeza is really, really hard to pronounce. Much harder than nucular [Razz]

Because that is the name which she is called by her friends and family.

He called her that for the same reason he calls Dick Cheney Dick and not Richard.

"Condeleeza" is like "Nymphadora"

Nobody wants to have to live with the full thing.

I think she got off easy! Doesn't President Bush have nicknames for everyone? Isn't Rove "turd blossom"?

Beats me, Howie. [Wink]

I think in Condi's case it's just a nickname, but Bush does apparently have a penchant for them.

I guess our Rep. Jack Quinn got off easy...just the 'Big Man from Buffalo'. I'm guessing that title goes to Mike Williams now.
