I don't know new music. I don't even know what's on the radio now, but I need to summon the young powers of hatrack to help me find a song.

I've heard it twice in the last month coming from someone else's car, so it's being played. Here is what we have to work on:

Female singer/group. It sounds like Macy gray or TLC, it's as much funk as it is pop, and the song is well produced.

"tell me why" starts the refrain, but I highly doubt that that's the name of the song.

Good luck. I imagine that this is one of those questions where the people who know, know, so if you can help me out, thanks.

He said the artist or band was female. Blink and Nu Flavor are male groups. Not to mention as far as I know, Nu Flavor hasn't put out a successful single since "Heaven" in 1997.
