I have been signing in for 2 weeks at a time. This morning my sign-in expired. When I tried to sign in, I got the following message:

quote:
Your session has expired. Please sign in again.
I re-tried a couple times, carefully typing my password, and finally hit the "Forgot password?" link.

I went to my old email address, dutifully reset my password, and tried to sign-in.

Now, I am getting this message:

quote:
Username and password do not match.
[Mad]

I am just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

So I emailed gmail and got the following helpful reply [/sarcasm]

quote:
Hello,

Thanks for contacting us. We aren't able to respond directly to inquiries
submitted to this email address.

If you are a Gmail user, please log in to your account and visit our Help
Center by clicking 'Help' at the top of any Gmail page.
If the information
you are looking for is not covered in our Help Center, you can submit a
request by clicking 'Contact Us' on the left side of any Help Center page.
This helps us route your inquiry so you can receive more information
specific to your issue.

If you are unable to log in to your Gmail account, please follow the steps
to reset your password by clicking 'Forgot your password?' on
http://gmail.google.com.

Finally, if you don't have a Gmail account, you can find responses to
common inquiries at the end of this message.

Sincerely,

The Gmail Team

It's so stupid made me laugh out loud. How the heck am I supposed to log into my account to find the answer to my question if my password doesn't work? [Grumble]

Idiots! [Mad]

It took me half an hour to get into my account this am.

I did the "re-set your password" thing again, and signed up for a gmail discussion board.

I forgot to mention that when I re-set my password each time, I got the following screen:

{quote]Password Reset

Your password has been reset.

Please choose a service to continue:

Google in Your Language - volunteer to translate Google's services into various languages

Google Groups (beta) - post and read comments in Usenet discussion forums

Google Alerts - sign up to receive emails with the latest relevant Google results based on any query or topic

Google Answers - paid researchers answer questions for you

Google Web APIs - a tool for software developers to query Google automatically

Google Groups - post and read comments in Usenet discussion forums [/quote]

I looked at them the first time, but wasn't really interested in signing up for anything, so I tried to skip to my email.

This time I decided to look for a gmail forum. When I tried to sign up with the forum, it gave me the old "Username and password do not match" message.

It gave me an anti-bot word to type in, and let me in the forum.

Now it finally let me into my email.

I can't log into my Gmail acount from this computer, but it works on others.

But my problem is different in that all I get is the loading page when I try to log in.

Huh, an arrogant jerk who is also wrong.

Looks like someone is trying to oust me from my favourite position.

You guys really need to work on your trolls, they're damn near civil.

Btw, Jebus, I have to hit refresh just about everytime I try to go to my gmail account - apparently it's a problem that gmail has with my particular browser (Safari).

But that doesn't sound like the type of problem you are having at all.

And I am pretty sure it's unrelated to the problem I had this morning. [Smile]

Jebus, I've heard people getting that problem intermittently, but it's usually not a consistent thing, as you've said.

For the intermittent problem, usually clearing the cache will do the trick. Since your problem seems to be a little out-of-the-ordinary, I'm not sure that would work, but you could try it.

So, no one's ever had the type of problem I had this morning?

Gee, I fee unique. [Wink]
