So I was working in my office(as in the room in my home that is my office) and after getting done doing some work I left the room, went into the bedroom and decided to give Leonide a kiss, who at the time was engrossed in a book(Robots of Dawn, Asimov).

As I lean down to kiss her I say something that's completely out of character for me. Out of character in the sense that i've never said it before and it just came to me spur of the moment. As I'm leaning down I say, "Shhhh....Don't say anything".

I kiss her and she says, "you gotta be kidding me", and shows me the exact line of the book she just got finished reading:

quote:
Shhh xxxxxx....Don't say anything

The "xxxxxx" being a name. Otherwise, the EXACT words from the book. EXACT!!!

I don't know what it means, but it's cool.

Kama, you just wish I would say things to you right after you read them in books...don't you!

And I know what kind of dirty books you read. [Razz]

My husband and I do stuff like that all the time. I'll be engrossed in a book and think, "I should ask Jeff for a drink, I don't want to get up but I'm thirsty", and a minute later he'll pause the game he's playing, get me a drink, go back and start playing again. It takes me a minute before I realize I didn't say anything out loud. When I point that out, he's always a bit weirded out by it. We've decided he must just be picking up on subconscious cues I send out or something, but that's just to make us feel better.

Wow.

KQ, that is really cool. How long have you been married?

Whoa. Just got weirder.

I just picked up my reading book on the other side of the room, then stopped and sat down on the computer to check a thread, and thought I'd click on this one.

The weird part? The book I'm holding is Asimov's Robots of Dawn.

Whoa. Maybe humanity suddenly evolved to a new level of consciousness some time last night, and now everyone shares some sort of telepathic power!!

*concentrates on spoon*

One year and 7 months. And we'd had about 2 months of total physical time together before we got married (we met online). [Big Grin]

Annie, we must have passed some of our weird wavelengths on to you with the gift exchange present we sent.

Otherwise, how do you explain you and Kira both reading Robots of Dawn at the same time! [Smile]

Sometimes I'll be walking across a room, and a phrase will suddenly be in my head, like: "Hadrian built a wall across..."

And I'll have to backtrack to find the words that my eye caught and processed totally subconciously before presenting it before my eyes in a random fashion a few seconds later.

O.o

Which, btw, Annie -- have you read Eyre Affair yet?

I'm dying to talk about it with SOMEONE since my boyfriend WON'T READ IT.

[No No]

(and i finished Robots of Dawn last night. Soo Cool.)

Correction. I just haven't read it YET!

My girlfriend has no patience.

Aww I thought this thread was about me...

Oh but that is really weird.

I read the first few chapters and then moved out of my house. It ended up in one of my boxes of books instead of my tote bag of "books currently being read." Both it and my book about Chinese snacks are now eluding me in the grand stack of book boxes in storage. [Mad]

It's a little known fact that the real reason Kama learned English is that she'd already read all the erotica that had been written in Polish.

And of course, there's a reason her English is so good, too--practice. Lots of practice.

I hear she's pretty much plowed through the material available in English, and is thinking about giving French a try next.

I hope they make a Battlestar Galactica movie so there can be a Battlestar Erotica skit on MadTV. Not that I watch Mad TV, but I like thinking up names for skits.

What else have you come up with?

...is so she would know *just enough* to communicate, but not enough to take away her "wow, she's got a sexy Polish accent and look how adorably she tries to grasp the language!" appeal.
