Either way, I wouldn't want to live on a coast right about now. I'm nervous and I live in the middle of the darned country.

Right. And there was "sound bombing" near Australia shortly before the beachings.
I don't know, maybe it's just me, but the connections between the sound bombing/beaching/earthquake and seismic pulses/beachings and who knows what next, is kind of scary.

Maybe this would explain why sonar sweeps of Loch Ness have not located Nessie. But it may be like a dog whistle for the whales.
