Hey, I think I'm going to sell my car and get a new one. I had the factory tape deck replaced, and I'd like to take out the new one and put the factory model back in. But I don't have the slightest idea how to do it. I can't find any screws or anything. It's a 1994 Ford Escort station wagon. Anyone know how I'd do this? Or where I could get a guide? Any help would be massively appreciated. Thanks much.

edit: I don't know if this makes any difference, but the new deck is a JVC KD-S890 MP3-CD player with a detachable face plate, and the old one is whatever the factory model was.

My husband did it, Speed. I think he just figured it out, but you can probably find directions on the Internet.

Where did you buy the stereo unit? Did they not offer an installation? Circuit City does installations, as does Ultimate Electronics (not sure if one of those is near you, though). These stores have trained people to install the units and will warranty their installation work, so it might not hurt to have an expert do it.

Find a local hoodlum - they'll have it out in under 30 seconds flat for you.

Or, do it the hard way.
