I just finished reading The Time Traveler's Wife and The Lovely Bones and now I need something new to read. I know we have probably fifty book threads, but I don't know what to search for or anything really about the books suggested.
I'm looking for something that is not too gushy and romantic or depressing, but still somewhat real and believable. If that makes sense. I really enjoyed the last two I read.
Thanks!

Do you read fantasy at all?

Or non-ficton?

Issacs Storm is great, what I have read of it so far....but it is non-ficton.

I read fantasy and (of course) Scifi, I've just been on a fiction kick lately. But I'd be up for some good new fantasy. I've never really read any nonfiction other than for school, but depending on the review and topic, I might give it a shot.

have you ever read "Shibumi" by trevanian? It is one of my favorites. Fun. A spy novel of sorts.

I enjoyed "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel" which is available at the front of any local bookshop near you. It's being marketed as Harry Potter for Adults, but of course, it's nothing like Harry Potter.

It's not very fast moving or very exciting, but it's a good read as it is a good length (700 odd pages). It has the feeling of being slightly unpolished and very slightly unfulfilling, but that never bothered me particularly.

I advise you get it from the library, if you can, just in case it's not your cup of tea- I have a feeling it's not many peoples', especially if they're Harry Potter graduates.

I just read Second Glance by Jodi Picoult. It's about ghosts and eugenics and was very good.
