My mother is going to buy a computer. If I don't come up with something better, she's going to buy this.
She doesn't need a new monitor, etc., just the tower. She'd really rather have a DVD burner too.
Reccommendations?

It's sad that the place I got my computer no longer exists. They seemed to have gone downhill. I got a comp with a dvd player, cd rw, 40 gigs worth of space, ect for about 300-400 dollars... But, I am sure there are other places like that around that custom build comps from the ground up.

When my brother upgraded his computer, he bought a server tower from dell, and added all the components on his own. You need to have a copy of windows in order to do this, but its very cheap. He spent 450 dollars on his computer, and got a ridiculously fast CPU (2.7 gig?), with 512k RAM, CD burner, DVD drive, 256 meg graphic card, and a really nice warranty.
