And yes, I post this just because of the name. That is all. I'll be outsided if there's any calls, and can you page SACEUR and tell him I want the updated plans for reppeling a Russian invasion of Poland in my office in a couple of hours?

Thanks.

This is the part where other people come in and tell super Kat how great she is.

You're great Super Kat.

OK, if no one else is awake, I'll just do it myself.

Kat is so cool she doesn't need to have wire, cooling racks, she can just walk into the kitchen. She's so hot she doesn't need an oven, she bakes by pure attraction.

I think if you want other people to come in and help you out, you can't do it at 2:30 in the morning.

Not to say, of course, that I'm averse to telling Kat how great she it. She's even better than a big huge chocolate bar that looks like her. (life size!)

You're awake, and you know how great Kat is. After all, you're why she's my sister in-law. [Smile]

[EDIT: Yep, that's what I'm talking about]

*giggle* Y'all are cute. And there's a reason she's called Super Kat. [Big Grin]

As for the movie, well it's about time someone made Pretty Man, neh? [Wink]

aw rivka, you ruined it. You're right, it IS pretty man but I was hoping it was something fresh and original. Guess not. [Smile] but it still looks cute.

And Kat, why didn't you tell us you were dating Durmont Mulrooney.

Maybe I should clean up and be an escort eh?

I do love tall, dark, and handsome.

[Kiss] You're so lucky you're my favorite brother-in-law, Hobbesy.

Not to kill the fun, but I find it interesting that in Pretty Woman, the paid escort was there for sex, and in this, the paid escort is there for social acceptability in front of other females.

rotfl. Y'know. With my grandma, I could have seen myself ending up like that if I hadn't met Steve, since they don't realize I would still be completely and utterly single otherwise. Of course my rentadate wouldn't be nearly so tall dark and handsome. I'm cheap so I'd scrounge a computer geek from work.

Because they're playing up the stereotypes that men are only interested in sex and women are only interested social appearances and never the twain shall meet... [Wink]

As much as I'm trying not to be amused by this thread, I do love the line in the trailer that says that most women have the love life they want. I think that's generally true. William Thackery was of the same opinion, as illustrated when he said that "a woman with fair opportunities and without an absolute hump may marry whom she likes."

In other words, Banna, you'd only be single right now if you wanted to be.

I have heard of places where the two are combined.

Except that in PW social acceptability (or lack of same) was also a significant issue; and the trailer sure as heck IMPLIED that sex will be an issue in this movie.

What, you think she's paying him six grand to look pretty?

*sigh* Yes, I did.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Oh dear, I made Katie sigh. Um, was that sigh directed at my prurient mind, or at Hollywood's? [Wink]

I don't think there was any sex involved in the deal in the movie. I do think there's sex in the movie, but I think it happens more incidentally. However, Messing's character is clearly too thrown off by some of the sexual situations for it to have been in the deal, I'm pretty sure.

The $6000 would be because the wedding is overseas, and thus quite an inconvenience.

Don't you think "prurient" sounds like the opposite of what it means?

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

No. I think it sounds like it should mean "smelly".

*mopes* No one gets my sense of humor . . .

Yes, fugu, I agree with your assessment. I was cracking wise -- and making kat sigh. [Wink]
