Except to announce that it's topic #30,000. Yay Hatrack.

I can't figure out how you knew the number of the topic.

I am sure it is totally obvious and I'm just being dumb though.

Check the URL.

t=030000 in the address for this thread

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

Ya, I knew that.

No really.

Hmmm.

So how did you know we were up to topic 29 999 when you posted?

Edit: Aaah, the entry page. All is clear now.

Edit Take 2: Except wait, that doesn't add up to 30 000.
Doh!

30,000 is like, a lot of topics.

and at least 30 of them were utterly meaningless drivel started by me [Smile]

Pfft. If anyone gets to take credit for the meaningless drivel around here, I do.

Posted by kaioshin00 (Member # 3740) on :

Why?

Posted by Ryuko (Member # 5125) on :

OH y'all. Haven't we already reached 30000, like five times?

Posted by mr_porteiro_head (Member # 4644) on :

There's not much point to this post, either.

Posted by Papa Moose (Member # 1992) on :

No, Ryuko. We've reached n00,000 posts many times before, but this is the only 30,000th thread in this (BFFaAC) forum.

over how many years does the 30,000 cover?

I *think* that this particular iteration of the forum dates back to either 1998 or 1999. The switchover from the previous forum software was a fairly recent development when I joined in June of '99.

Maybe you should have made this a personal hygiene and grooming thread. Those seem to be very popular lately. [Smile]

Overheard in the car today:

Daughter: "You know how you said that to be a mermaid I have to cut off my feet, then cut off a fish's feet?"

Son: "Yeah."

Daughter: (with a smug look) "Well, fish's feet are too small."

Son: (rolls eyes) "I meant a dolphin's feet."

Daughter (dejected) "Oh."

We'd better start posting topics then! [Smile] I need to be here when we get to 40K!!

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

What kills me is that we're already more than 50 topics past 30K. We work fast around here!!

I think that Papa Moose thinks that, by mentioning this, he gets a tripling of his post count or something.
Confess, PM!
