O no my roommate's gonna have a cow. She loves skating and France. [Big Grin]

It looks fun and elegant at the same time, a rare combination.

Oh, that's so awesome! I wanna go too!

I wish I could skate... [Razz]

That almost makes me want to go back to Paris!

Coccinelle, how much time did you spend in Paris?

(While we're on the subject of French, I don't think I ever told you how much I love your screen name... [Smile] )

My wife took skating lessons years ago and loves to skate, and she speaks French fluently....so now Ireland has a rival for her affections, sort of....

Raia- I was there for nine days this June- I was fascinated by the Eiffel Tower and I loved seeing everything but I had an incredibly bad experience there, so it's not the city, just the memory associated with it.

I'd like to go back someday, but it's all a little too fresh right now.

(thank you, I love ladybugs!)

I love ladybugs too...

What happened in Paris? [Frown] Oy! I was there two weeks, not last summer, but the summer before. Not only that, but my grandfather has a very good friend who lives there who's married to a millionaire, and we stayed with them... they have one of the enormous mansions on the river Seine, with a flat roof (seven stories high) from which you can see practically all of Paris. It was AMAZING!

That sounds like an incredible way to experience Paris [Smile]

It really was. The location was also amazing... a two minute walk from Place de la Concorde, a five minute walk from the Musee d'Orsay, and about a ten minute walk from the Louvre. Everything else was pretty close, though not always walking distance (despite my having walked much of it anyway!)

OMG I wish I could do that!

Been there, didn't do that... Paris is nice, but skating is sooo not my sport!

That looks like so much fun! When I go to Paris this is definitely on my list of top things I want to do! I love ice skating (though I am not very good) and imagine how awesome the view would be from there! [Smile]

Oh, and I hear the Louvre is closed on Tuesdays, so be sure not to go on a Tuesday or you won't get to see it.

In general, museums are all closed Tuesdays, and many businesses are closed Mondays. And just about everything is closed on Catholic holidays. (much to the chagrin of my classmates who wanted to go shopping on Pentecost. [Smile] )
