Some wonderful person told me this once before - I could have sworn I saved the thread - can't find it -

How do I change the settings on my PC to let me get my attachments?

*whimper*

Are you talking about email attachments? Could you elaborate on exactly what you mean?

This might be the way to fix your problem...

That is, if your problem is that Outlook or Windows XP is blocking certain types of attachments from showing up. If it isn't the problem, I might need some more details.

Can I post a stupid computer question here?

I like to use the taskbar. Infact, I just got the "freelaunchbar," and I love it.

But I am thinking...

On my task bar at the bottom right, I have Icons for quicktime, Norton Ghost, Command Anti-VIrus, Open Office, my volume control, and the time.

Is there a way I can get it so it only shows the time in the bottom-right corner? I like to have the taskbar mostly free so I can have more windows open before they cascade.

I like the freelaunchbar because I created an icon for "media" and and Icon for "web," and I have stacked all all my quick launch icons in those two folders. It saves space.

Now I want to clean out my icons on the right.

Suggestions?

lem, if you're using Windows XP, you can specify which programs should be hidden when they create an icon at the right of your taskbar. You just have to right click on the taskbar and go to Properties, check 'Hide inactive icons' (last checkbox in that window) and then click on 'Customize'. There you have listed the current and past items and for each one of them you can choose a behavior between 'Always show', 'Always hide' and 'Hide when inactive' - you actually have to click on the item to see that you have more options, otherwise the 'Behavior' part looks just like plain text. Of course, if you have programs creating icons in your taskbar for the first time, you'll have to modify the behavior for them - usually the default is 'Hide when inactive', but some programs set it to 'Always show'.

Hope this helps.

We're on the right track . . .

there's a simpler way to unblock blocked e-mail attachments . . .

I can't remember what that way is, unfortunately.

Must be under tools somewhere . . .

*scratches head puzzling*
