It was just announced that both Clemson and South Carolina will have their bowl priveledges revoked due to the fights at the game on saturday.

What a way to end a season, and what a terrible way for Lou Holtz to end a distinguished career.

I wanted to go to a bowl this year as much as any other Gamecock fan. We haven't been any year since I came to school here, and I was really looking forward to it. But I am glad that this action was taken. Yes it punishes us, the fans, as well as the players, but they needed punishment.

The state attorney general has had to put a moratorium on this game due to violence before, and they are talking about doing it again.

It is a sad day when we can't just go out there and play a game. It is a sad day when things are taken too far and people get hurt.

Thugs with scholarships, thats all we are left with.

Any mention of revoking scholarships?

Not right now. This was a decision made between both the schools. The SEC will determine which players will be suspended for next year.

As for scholarships and other forms of punishment for those students involved, President Sorensen stated at the press conference that there WILL be punishments outside of what comes down from the SEC. He did not, however, say what those will be. I assume another press conference will be held at another date to announce what actions will be taken.
