I no longer remember who (it was more than one person, I think) had asked me about online resources to learn Hebrew. Naturally, when I went looking, I couldn't find any of the ones I wanted.
Since I was just looking for something entirely different . . .
Holy crap, that's freaking awesome!

Hey, that forum uses the same theme as Kylie's.

Rivka, a quick unrelated question, can an Orthodox Rabbi marry?

Great now it feels like I never learned how to read Hebrew. *Curses lack of vowels.* Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :
Not only can he, it would be preferred that he do so. (This would be true of ANY Jewish adult male, not just rabbis.)

Does that not imply that you=heaven?

*ponders* hmm...never thought of it that way...somehow I don't think anybody would consider that equation truthful, though...

That is a really cool site!
I hate to burst your bubble, everyone, but it's going to take a little more than that to actually learn the language... you have to be able to speak it, for example.
Tell you what, anyone who feels they've learned the language from this course is obligated to fly here and speak to me. Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :
It actually has links to several sites that will say some of the words to you, as well as transliteration of each lesson.
But yes, of course you cannot learn a language just in writing. Good place to start though, neh?

I feel your pain. At this point, I can barely read Hebrew with the vowels. Without them, I'm completely hopeless.
