I know there's a fairly large southern California contingent of Hatrackers out there, so I was wondering: are any of you all going to be at LosCon at the LAX Marriott over Thanksgiving weekend (Friday through Sunday, Nov. 26-28, to be specific)? Be nice to meet up sometime during the weekend if you are. [Smile]

Drat! I don't think I'll make it this year EITHER! [Mad] I have the kids that weekend, and grades are due Monday. *sigh*

*sheepish* Maybe next year?

Oh rats, Rivka. Wish you could make it.

Anyone else?

Now, if you wanted to do something afterward . . . dunno what your schedule is, but I'd be interested. [Smile]

Well, things generally wind down around noon or one p.m. on Sunday, and we (my mom will be with me - it's going to be fun to see how she likes the con [Smile] ) could probably do with a bite to eat before we get on the long road back home. Do you know someplace convienent where we could meet and have a sandwich or something? At least we'd get to meet and talk and prove that we're both real. [Big Grin]

Yes . . . if we stretch "convenient" slightly. The place I'd suggest (by virtue of being kosher and having really good food) is about 12 miles from the airport . . . is that doable?

If not . . . let's see, there's a kabob&chinese place about 10 miles from the airport?

Or there's always Starbucks. There are several within a couple miles of the airport.

12 miles isn't too bad, depending on how difficult it is to get there. I drive farther than that to do almost everything. [Smile]

It's not hard to get there, and it's the best kosher deli in L.A. [Smile]

Cool. Where, and how do I get there from the airport. The hotel is on West Century Blvd, just north of the airport.

Sounds good to me, Rivka. Would 1 p.m., 1:30-ish be too late for you?

Edit to add: Thanks for the map. [Smile]

I know this is early to be arranging things, but I'm actually going to be away from regular computer access starting this Thursday - going to go do some family things around southern California before we go to the con.

Anyway, see you Sunday after Thanksgiving between 1 and 1:30 p.m. [Smile]
