Great article in The New York Times about living with ALS (Living for Today, Locked in a Paralyzed Body). The story centers around a hemotologist/oncologist who has lived with ALS for 10 years and devised his own treatment regimen. There is a passing nod given to the extent of "right to die" media coverage as opposed to coverage of these stories.
My favorite quote:
quote:As Dr. Davis put it, "Quality of life becomes a moving target - what was one day an unacceptable quality of life becomes an acceptable quality of life."
