I don't have the year but on my birthday St. Mark's Cathedral was finished being built, interrestingly enough, my name is Mark. And I wasn't named after the cathedral.

4 Apr 1968, one minute before Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was shot, according to my Dad.
Interestingly, that site doesn't seem to find this a significant event, though it does seem a number of dutch soccer players share my birthday.

I was born 1095 days after my older sister, which would be on her birthday, if it had not been for leap year.

On my birthday (the exact day and year) Goetz was indicted for shooting 3 kids of the subway, NASA launched a spaceship, the pope announced a synod for later that year that would go over the results of vatican II (seeking to negate it) and some football player transferred teams.
We had to write research papers on this in 9th grade. It was horrible.

I share a birthday with Groucho Marx, Bud Abbot, Don McLean, Neil Tennant, Sting, Clive Barker, Kelly Ripa, and Tiffany, among many others.
Funny how the birthday list only goes to 1991. I guess nobody under 14 years old has had the chance to make themselves famous enough to make the list.

There's a lot of gloom and doom that happened on my birthday, March 20. The first day of spring should be cheery!
1345: Saturn/Jupiter/Mars-conjunction thought "cause of plague epidemic" 1760: Great Fire of Boston destroys 349 buildings 1944: Bus falls off bridge into Passaic River NJ, killing 16 1944: Mount Vesuvius, Italy explodes 1956: Mount Bezymianny on Kamchatka Peninsula (USSR) explodes 1972: 19 mountain climbers killed on Japan's Mount Fuji during an avalanche
These are still fresh in my mind... 1991: Conor Clapton, Eric Clapton's son, falls out of 53rd floor window at 5 1995: Poison Gas released in Tokyo subway 12 killed, 4,700 injured
On a lighter note, Carl Reiner (1922), Spike Lee (1957), Fred "Mr." Rogers (1928) and Jane March (1973) can share the doom with me.
