I just want to send out a big thanks to Twinky for recording his album and making it available to so many of us here. It provided me the inspiration and motivation to complete my album.

I have done so and it is now available here for anyone interested. The music is pretty varied with electronica, heavy metal, punk, ambient, blues, and other influences. The tracks I am most proud of are Lost Soul (inspired by this painting by Angry Johnny), Whispering Dream, and Driven.

So there it is. One of my first creative outlets that has gotten to a point where I am willing to share it with the outside world.

So thanks Twinky. Your copy went into the mail this morning so you should have it sometime next week.

Thanks dude! I'm stuck on dialup here so I'll probably wait for the disc, slap it on my iPod, and give it a whirl. [Smile]

As to my own album, you're totally welcome. No worries. I'm just really glad that people are enjoying it and giving me feedback. [Smile]

Also, I suggest you amend your thread title so that it mentions, somewhere, that you have completed your album and that it's available for download. I'm not exactly a Hatrack personality, so sticking my name in a thread doesn't guarantee lots of views. [Razz]

Pfft. [Razz]

Yay more music to listen to! I'm on dial up so it might take me a while, but I'll get around to it. I'm sure it's great. [Smile] [Smile]

I couldn't resist, I started downloading some of them. I'm curious as to which instruments are played and which are loops, it isn't always easy to tell.

Edit:

I downloaded the blues one. Jeepers, dude, you're good. Really good.

The other stuff (what I've heard of it so far) is good. Very polished. This level of production quality is what I aspire to for my second album. [Smile]

Wow, you're good. [Smile]

I like Adrenaline Ritual and Lost Soul the best so far. Admittedly I've only listened to five songs. Stupid dial up. [Razz]

Wow. *impressed* I like the differences in your style from track to track.

And hey, Twink's music is a source of inspiration for me too. [Smile]

I really need to get some of my music recorded and join the Hatrack Musician's Cabal. *grin*

Thanks for the compliments.

And just for everyones info, there are no live instruments on this album. I have just recently started recording some of my own guitar playing but none of it is on this album. This album is all just loops and samples.

I will eventually get some stuff put together with real guitar and bass playing at the least, but I don't know when.

Ah, cool. The instrument loops are very natural and very high-quality. [Smile]

We have some awesome artists here at Hatrack.

I like it.

Sorry to bump my own thread but I thought that given the discussion of live instruments versus loops I would put up a link to a song that I played bass on almost 8 years ago. The song is called Slave and it was recorded in a friends garage (actually a garage converted into a spare room) on a crappy ghetto blaster. I have tried to clean it up a bit but the instruments aren't very well balanced. It's a pretty basic bass line, but it is the only example of my playing that I have recorded right now.
