Which are more unavoidable?

Discuss.

My kitchen is full of unwashed dishes. I can either wash them tonight, or get killed. Does that answer your question?

It depends on the level of your technology. The only thing that is certain, then, is death.

I can always have the option of hiring someone to take care of my dishes and dirty socks.

Same can't be said for the taxes or death.

You can easily avoid unwashed dishes by only using paper plates or eating out fast food.

You can easily avoid lost socks by never wearing anything by sandals.

Add: and moving to a warmer climate where frostbite isn't a danger.

This was my answer to the problem. When I lived in the intermountain west with my 6 children, I washed so many dirty socks each week it was mind-boggling. I think I own one pair of socks now, but I can't tell you the last time I wore them.

I'll be going to Atlanta in November, though. I may actually have to buy some socks now. [Grumble]

My friend in Israel had a huge pile of unmatched (but clean) socks in one room of her house - probably waiting for the matches to turn up (which, in my experience, almost never happens). [Razz]

No, it depends on your level of techology whether death is certain or not.

You always have the option of hiring CPA's to take care of your taxes.

HA! Taking care of certainly doesn't equate to paying, does it? In fact, getting CPA's involved often means dishing out a little more...(for their services)

... though once you're rich enough, hiring a CPA will mean that you'll pay less (or even NO) taxes by finding all sorts of tax loopholes...

Well if you have the means to hire a maid for the dishes and the dirty socks [Wink]

Anyone want a job handling death for me?

Back during the draft during the U.S. Civil War, in the North rich men could hire poor men to go in their place...

Interesting question.

My preferred coping methods with all of them are denial and avoidance.

Short-term success rate (from most to least successful):

1. dirty socks
2. taxes
3. dishes
4. death (still waiting to see how it works out)

Lol. Reading the topic just reminded me I left my laundry in the machines. [Big Grin]

Taxes, dishes, and dirty socks can all be avoided. You can avoid dirty socks by never wearing socks, and you can avoid dishes by never using dishes. You can avoid taxes simply by not paying them. You'll go to jail, of course, but that doesn't mean you must pay taxes. As far as we know, there's still no way to avoid death in the long run. So, I vote for death.
