I just saw that amazon is selling the first season of a bunch of fox TV shows for 15 bucks. I just bought roswell. They have angel, buffy, 24, simpsons, futurama...

Just thought some of you might be interested...since it is dirt cheap for DVDs

PS: I am assuming the link will work...I just cut and pasted it from my browser. In case it does not work...just go to amazon.com and look for the "fox" DVD sales add...or you can just search directly for the TV shows. Sadly, only the first seasons are on sale...but this is insanely cheap.

PPS: If this is 'spamming' sorry. I just saw it on amazon, and thought it was an insanely good deal.

[Embarrassed] Wow. If I hadn't already wasted my spending money for this month... (The DAY I got it...) I might buy some of those. I'll pass it on to my friends who have money...

Ya, I know the feeling...I really wanted to buy 24 and angel in addition to roswell...but just couldn't make myself spend more money.

Hey, if you want cheap DVDs, come to south Asia. Here, we pay $2 to $2.5 US for DVDs. Granted, some of them are camera copies where you get to watch a fat guy with a big tub of popcorn in one hand and a big drink in the other sit down in front of the camera and hear people laughing, coughing, whatever. Or you get DVDs that have "for awards purposes only. do not duplicate" written across them. Or you can get studio copies that haven't had the colors/special effects/whatever finalized yet, so it's a prerelease version. Or, if you're willing to wait a few months after a movie's hit the theatres, you can get an actual duplicate of an original.

All for the same low low price.

Yeah, I know. BUT then there's this side of the argument . . .

While I've been told - by one person - that it's possible to buy legal DVDs here, I don't know one single person who knows where to get them. And I've asked. Many times.

The other consideration. DVDs typically sell for, what, $10 to $25 USD, correct? (I'm guessing - I've never bought any in the US.) The average person here earns a mere $70 US a month. And this country is not the poorest in the region. Considering that the average American earns $2500 a month, our relative prices for DVDs are $350 to $875 per DVD. Would you be willing to pay that much for a DVD?

(sources of income statistics: Encyclopedia Brittanica 2004 DVD edition)

Not saying it's right or that the information above justifies it. It's just a consideration. [Evil]
