In this thread, say anything at all and the next person to post (me or someone else) will take offense instantly and go off on you for no apparent reason. Note that the cool thing is that the next person needn't also make a statemtn for someone else to take offense at...their primary post will be enough. We can take offense at each other taking offense.
I'll start us off by saying that I really enjoy crisp fall days.
Posted by zgator (Member # 3833) on :
And what the heck is wrong with warm summer days? Or cold winter days? Or how about spring? Did you even think about those days?
No, of course not. Because you're a bigot, Bob. We've always known that and now you're proving us right.
Posted by dkw (Member # 3264) on :
zgator, you’re wrong to jump all over Bob like that. I happen to know that Bob really appreciates the full four seasons. You shouldn’t be so touchy.
Posted by Tammy (Member # 4119) on :
If you two are going to be married soon dkw, you're going to have to let the big guy fight his own battles. He'll need you around for strength, but not to fight his little battles.
(that was insulting you, not me taking it personally)
I'll try to do better.

Excuse me?? Believe me when I say I like crisp fall days more than most, Bob. I was born in September, loved walking to school, dressing up in costumes, having Thanksgiving dinners. I like the first gentle fall frost, that makes the scrunching noise when you walk on it, leaving a trail of verdant footprints. The walk home, the sky a soft gold highlighting the reds, oranges, yellows of the leafy headdresses of oaks, maples, and birches...
People like you, so pithily mentioning just one aspect of glorious fall, as if you really even KNOW, as if you truly understand, when you're just trying to fit in with the true aesthetes.
Hrmph.
You'd probably be quick to say you like cute little puppy dogs, too, even though you are so OBVIOUSLY a ferret person.

Why I've seen moon lit nights, dark new moon nights when a comet sailed high in the sky, cold windy Montana nights that could freeze your toes off in a flash, warm sunny nights with swarming fire flies. I've seen nights filled with sirons and traffic accidents, dark foggy nights. Lonely nights, dull nights, spirited nights.
How could you possible reduce that to good and bad nights.

I'm deeply offended that you would be offended at the speed of the expansion of offendedness. This entire offense thread serves the purpose of offendedness! Can't you see that? You offend me. I'm also offended that you would ignore me because you're too offended by me, when this is clearly the place to be offended. What, Uncle Orson plays "Love at Home" on the piano and we're all supposed to be friends? Criticism is a normal, healthy part of human interaction, and as a writer you should understand that. Shame on you, sir, for trying to supress the discussion of controversial material.

I'm offended that the pig card was played here. We don't need ad porkinem attacks.
Posted by kaioshin00 (Member # 3740) on :
I dont understand how one could even consider making a name such as "Morbo," where 2/5 of the characters are vowels. The alphabet, which has 26 characters total, only has 5 vowels. Therefore only less than 1/5 should be a vowel, and distinct ones at that. Morbo has over double this expected ratio.
It's names like yours that make me want to get more invovled in vowel rights movements. I hope you're happy.
Posted by Morbo (Member # 5309) on :
I'm amusingly offended that you don't know that vowels have a higher probability of use in any given word than consonants, so a 5/26 ratio is never obtained, on average. . . besides, your name has a 1/2 ratio. Are you going to boycott your own name?
