This will be Sasha's first halloween in the states. Here we go, door to door, saying "Trick or Treat." Most people offer candy to the cute kids in their costumes.

Some demand a trick or joke for the candy.

Sasha's grasp of English is not great, so I need a good joke he can remember and tell. Any ideas?

(My favorite from last year, "What do you call a Fish with no eyes? Fssshhhh." is impossible for Sasha. He has trouble with f's.

*laugh* I like the playground joke.

Hmm...I might actually have trick-or-treaters this year. I need to plan.

Doorbel rings

The lady of the house opens the door to find a little boy dressed up in his daddy's shirt, with a large tri-cornered hat and eye patch with a pencilled-on beard standing at the door.

"Twick or tweat" says the young pirate.

The lady, amused at the little boy's lisp, says "Ah, you're a fierce-looking pirate, but where are your buccaneers?"

The boy looks at her funny for a moment then answers "under my buccan' hat!"

*probably best told aloud.
