I regret to announce my departure from the hallowed halls of Hatrack's esteemed ranks.

Yes, I'm afraid I have actually managed to stumble into a...gasp...job! And as long as I don't show up hung over or drunk and don't download porn on my work computer, I'll still be better than the last guy. [Big Grin]

I'll try to stick my head in from time to time, if only to badger Farmgirl for that recipe ( [Big Grin] !), but trying to keep up with the serious threads that explode from one page to six in the course of an afternoon just isn't going to work.

I will, however, inflict my puns on unsuspecting threads just to keep my title as the Obvious One. [Big Grin]

Cheers,
Trevor

Hatcrack is not that easily set aside. Good luck keeping it from interfering with your life. [Razz]

And we'll miss your frequent commentary.

Oh, and alas in French is Hélas! I say this not to be persnickety, but because it's one of the coolest words I know.

Good luck Trevor, both with the job and with successfully leaving Hatrack. I give you a week and a half before you're posting here from work almost as much as you were from home before you got the job.

Drat! forgot that recipe for Trevor again! (there are several similar versions online though).

So you gonna tell us what this job is, mister?

Farmgirl

edit: can't spell drat

Leaving!?! [Monkeys] This is not acceptable! There must be a minimum of seven posts a day!

Read some Orson Scott Card why don't you! And you can have two out of three things in life. Job, Hatrack, and sleep. Are your priorities really in line if you choose sleep?

Congratulations! I hope you like your new job.

When I started posting regularly you quickly became one of my favorite Hatrackers, so I am sad to see you go. [Frown] I hope you visit often.

Trevor,
Congratulations on your new job. However, you will not escape so easily.

I didn't say I was leaving, leaving. [Big Grin]

Although I do appreciate the sentiments - obviously from people who dodged my frequent puns.

But my posts went from zero to a thousand+ in the course of a month, so I'm aiming for a middle ground. Sorta. Kinda.

Farmgirl - I still want the actual Red Lobster recipe, as noted in the shrimp lover's thread. [Big Grin]

Technically, I'm a courier, but I also pitch in for production work in scanning and uploading documents to a company website for "e-hosting" of formerly paper records.

And since the last courier deleted a mailing list of some 257 records, I'm getting a chance to show off my Office skills. I'd offer to write him a thank-you note, but since he did that the same morning I was coming in to fill out my application paperwork, it might be considered in poor taste. [Big Grin]

Mind you, he didn't delete any of his illegaly downloaded music or his XXX porn collection - on the office computer, no less.

Illegaly downloaded music...
XXX porn...
Deleted a mailing list...

Trevor...do you know how hard it would be for you to beat that man?
He's kind...an icon!

Congrats Trevor about your job! And good luck with not coming to Hatrack as often as you did before...

And about the last courier: Maaan, he really did a lousy job! I mean, I ALWAYS delete my illegaly downloaded music and my XXX porn!

Err... [Blushing]

Trevor,

I do hope they are totally re-imaging that machine before you use it. Getting ALL the porn off without a hard drive wipe will be difficult -- and the machine may never run completely right again...

I think they have, Farm - I'm not entirely sure what they did to the computer, but since my computing requirements will be kept to a minimum, I'm not particularly concerned about it.

And if their IT guy is happy, I'm not about to make waves.

Although I may download and install a couple of privacy sweepers, just to be sure since I don't know if they have any net security to speak of. Scary thought, neh?

-Trevor

Edit: Now, about that recipe... [Big Grin]
