Well a double whine I guess. After an unusually hellish commute, good old weightlifter Bob booms "Good Morning AJ!" when I walked in the door. I just glared at him, considered decking him even if he is twice as big as I am and stalked to my office.

I'm not at my best in the mornings. Never have been, ask my mother, she tried to change me. Steve's just learned to deal with it.

Then I check my work e-mail and find out these Stupid People in the Middle East, are saying that I'm totally out to lunch on the analysis I did for why their parts failed. I keep going "It's not a chemical issue it's a mechanical system issue, we've done the tests and have proof."

But they keep coming back with "but it's a chemical issue and you need to replace the parts for free." I even wondered if it was a language barrier and went to one of the guys in engineering who just got transferred to headquarters from the Middle East Office to review what I had written. He couldn't believe how out to lunch they were either. He sent out a long e-mail yesterday detailing *exactly* what was wrong with the system and they are still arguing. [Wall Bash] [Wall Bash] [Wall Bash]

It's out of my hands now thank god, but willful stupidity always annoys me. Especially because our company will lose credibility if we don't actually tell the customer what is wrong and how to fix it correctly. If the sales guy doesn't believe what is wrong, then he's going to keep making the exact same mistake that we've *told* him is a problem!

*hands AJ a half-carton of Dreyer's Chocolate Truffle Explosion*

I'd give you the whole carton, but I ate some.

*hands the Truffle Explosion back to Annie*

Thanks sweetie, I know you meant well and it was a sacrifice to offer it, but I actually don't like rich chocolate. So you get the whole thing to yourself! Maybe I should go buy some nice strawberry ice cream...
[Wink]

I'm being somewhat restrained... I'm venting here and not chasing people around my lab with shards of broken glassware.

One day when I really lose it I'm going to pull the chains on all of the safety showers. We have 4 in a pretty small area. The flooding would be impressive.

It may be a cultural thing, like haggling over something in an open market. Their continued arguing may nothing whatsoever to do with the facts.

*shrug*

*hug*

Well even my middle east guru, who has lived over there for the better part of the last 10 years and is either Egyptian or Syrian, though clearly liberal, was pretty dumbfounded. So, I really don't think it is a cultural-language thing. That's why I talked to him in the first place.

You know, this is the perfect place to use the new emoticon that Pat taught me yesterday.

I think it's three women with pointy gluts all mooning us together.

*screws up face, turns sideways

Yep. That's my guess.

[I'm so sorry, AJ. Sounds like a nightmare. But on the plus side, I remembered your ice cream preferences. [Big Grin] ]

And: NO, I'm NOT the Summer Intern. Yes, I actually Work Here and have for almost 2 years. No, I'm NOT 18, I'm 25!

Actually the lady I was talking to was really cool once we got past that, and I think I've made a new friend.

[Mad] I hate people who boom in the morning. You know they're just doing it to let the boss know that you're late.
