You know, there are some people around here that I don't know as much about as I would like to. I would like to feel like I know you all better. So, why doesn't everyone share how old they are, their gender, and where they live?

Now, I know that I've been here for a couple of years now, and I have a bunch of posts. But I think that it's important that you new members participate. I understand that some new members have problems with "oldbies." I won't go into speculation as to why this is. Newbies, if this thread by an existing member bothers you, or you don't want to participate, I hope you will just do your best to ignore it, please. [Smile]

There are LOTS of surprises here -- even for those of us who have been here awhile and should already know these things.

I am surprised Tick is only 26 -- not because he looks old, but just because his maturity made me think he was older than that.

Having met Hobbes and Annie, I would never have known there was any age difference there.

Dag is also younger than I expected -- just because he writes such mature and thoughtful posts...

You know, I never really thought anyone would successfully pull off an A/S/L thread here on Hatrack. Maybe it only worked because Icarus was trying (and, it should be noted, dismally failing [Razz] ) to be funny?

DisneyReporter is the youngest member we've got right now, that I'm aware of. S/he is either 12 or 13--I can't remember which.

As for me, the details of my life are quite inconsequential.

I think Icarus gets by with an A/S/L thread because we know him - he's been around awhile. It isn't like a newbie just popping into Hatrack and saying "Hi, by the way, what is your A/S/L?"

This really isn't much different than the birthday thread, or the "how old are you" thread, or the Faction thread (locations), etc.

She is very much a Scorpio (if you do that sort of thing). The exact opposite of me... <grin> Don't know how much of those are just firstborn traits, and how much is the November thing....
