I’m playing Antonio in a production of The Tempest this weekend, and my sword arrived today. (It’s a reproduction of a 14th century Italian sword, I bought it on e-bay.) It’s BIG. And HEAVY! The guy who plays Sebastian and I have been taking turns using his sword, to get practice, but this one is a few inches longer, making it just that much harder to draw. Darn my short arms! (And long arms.)

Oh well, at least the director has given up trying to convince me to grow a beard.

I also show more leg as a guy in this show than I’ve ever shown in any show where I’ve played a woman. O_o

There's an Antonio/Sebastion duo in the Tempest too? Same goes with Twelth Night right?

Yep. And they're shipwrecked, too. Other than that, no real similarities in character.

Tee hee...

I have these super cool tights for RenFest. They are royal blue, crushed velvet tights... and DAMN do I have good legs, if I may say so.

*struts proudly*

Break a leg, dkw!

Just to be clear, everyone knows that dkw is a woman and Telperion is a man, right?

Actually, I didn't know that DKW was of the female persuasion but that's no reason to not get pictures!!! [Big Grin]

I never realized that being female was a matter of "persuasion". I always thought of it as more of a genetic/biological thing.

At any rate, I doubt I could have been persuaded to be female. No one ever gave me the choice.

Why couldn't you have been persuaded to be female, Rabbit?

Well, surgeries like that are quite expensive nowadays. I know I couldn't afford it.

Two hours and four minutes to the first derailment.

That's not bad!

Hey, this is going to be great! I'm driving up to see dkw in the play and she said I can play with her sword...

someday...

if I'm good...

Well, Bob, your sword has a lovely scabbard. You had better be good, or it will rust in the rain. ha ha.

Edit: (The sword would rust, not the scabbard)

Have fun! I'll second the request for pictures. Even ones of Bob playing with your sword.

[ROFL] This line is even funnier!

My little sister played Trinculo in "The Tempest" once. She had a great time. [Smile]

Huh?
Swords?

<<inserts random comment about fencing>>
Yes, I'm an addict. At least I'm posting, darn it.

On a similar note, I was thinking about when I should attempt one of these "landmarks". Saying 3 years saw me barely past 100th post, waiting for 1000th would make the traditional 1000post landmark due in 2055 or so.
Guess I can wait [Razz]
I'm all about the procrastination.

Crazy as always,
Psychotriad
