This coming Friday, at 5:30 (or so) p.m., I embark on a new experience.
A real, live vacation that is not related to being at home with a sick child, recovering from an accident, etc. *knocking on wood to ensure actual vacation*
I will not return to work until September 8.
Nathan and I are going to explore a variety of things, both urban and rural (i.e., Seattle Center, horseback riding, ocean's/kite flying, visit relatives, kick back and relax, flower gardening, biking, doing nothing at all, sleeping in late, staying up late and watching movies and eating cheap pizza and poporn . . . oh, and of course, post silly threads on Hatrack )
How's it sound?????
I'm so excited!
And the first three days are ALL MINE because Nathan will be at a Fri - Mon camp . . .
So, what have I left out?

I have an incredible, wonderful boss. She agreed that since I have the comp time, if I got the priority projects done today, I could add two extra days to my vacation.
It was a lonnnnggggg day, but I did it!

Awwww - c'mon guys! I haven't had a real, live vacation - except for an occasional long weekend EVER! (Once I graduated high school, which was way too many years ago to even think about now.)
And for the last five years, EVERY time I build up leave, it gets used up by hospitalizations for my son or me, family emergencies, illness, poor drivers . . .
This is a blessing!
Rejoice with me!
