The Berghoff is where you ate dinner in Chicago. Please, please don't confuse it with Bennigans. *shudder*

Thank you very much. [Blushing]

Mmmm...
Berghoff gently and slyly strutted into the opulent viewing room of the Eye of Argon which glimmered like an huge jewel in the shape of an eye. Thus did Berghoff make his beer, and it was good but cheesy in the barbarians' throat which did make the wenches wiggle in strange ways.

Christy, some of us did go down the street near the hotel and eat at Bennigans, while you guys were at the Berghoff...

Telp, as far as I know there wasn't any rugburn involved with eating at this Bennigans.

O_O

*faintly* Is there usually?

Yaay for cheesy beer! O_o

And, I reiterate, *shudder*

Did you have a bad experience there Christy? I mean I know it is a chain, but what is your grudge against Bennigans?

My grandparents always took me to The Berghoff whenever we went to Chicago. Great place.

Posted by Christy (Member # 4397) on :

Nope, simple snobbery *grin* I've never even been in one.

I ate at the Berghoff when our plane stopped in Chicago a few years ago.

Ridiculously nice place, but...

I haven't been able to eat sausage since.

*insert vomit smiley here*

Berghoff had a white chocolate mousse that was sincerely sinful. Holy moly - that was yummy.

I loved the food we had at Bennigans.

Of course, I'm probably not as "discriminating" as the upper crust. After all, I eat at the Roadkill Cafe here....

I'm going to assume that "Roadkill Cafe" is a self-aware joke and NOT a deliberate admission of some sort on the part of the ownership. Even so, I'm the kind of person that would only find the concept funny if they served ridiculously overpriced, expensive food with pidgin French names that, when translated, MEANT things like "flattened skunk fritters with dandelion garni." [Smile]

It's just an ordinary diner -- hamburgers and a noon special (like roast beef w/mashed potatoes). Regular venue.

I was hoping Berghoff would turn out to be the german restaurant where they filmed the middle part of "Groundhog Day".

"I wish we could all live at high altitudes in the mountains. That's where I see myself in 5 years."

The Captain Obvious Tip O' the Day:

Never order a margarita at an American-Irish restaurant. Ever. *shudder*

I like Berghoff. His portrayal of Radar really made that character into a person I could identify with. [Cool]

Wait, what? Oh, sorry. Never mind. [Wink]

Berghoff... I remember hearing people talk about some "Berg-off" during the weekend. I thought there was going to be a competition between Richard Berg and someone else named Berg. Makes more sense now.
