What are you talking about? Granola is bought, not made.

No, No MPH!!! Nothing you buy in a store compares to home made granola!

Jenna's Recipe:

3 cups rolled oats
1 cup mixed rolled grains ( buy Bob's pre-mix bag)
1 cup slivered or sliced almonds
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/3 cup whole flax seeds
3/4 cup honey warmed
1/4 cup vege oil or applesauce

mix together in large pan. Bake in 300 oven, stirring about every 10-15 minutes, for an hour until the proper crunchiness.

That sounds like a lot more effort than slapping some cash down at a grocery store. Eating is an unfortunate necessity for survival, I'm not about to waste that much time preparing something. I can't wait for the glory days of the future when all meals are in easy-bake Paste&Pills form.

*opens snack drawer* Looks like I've got garden herb triscut, smores pop tarts, cashews, chocolate caramel creme savers, and spiderman fruit snacks. I've also got some jello in the fridge and I brought in some blueberry muffins I made this morning.

<laughs> I like to drink low carb shakes for my favorite snack.

I am now out of triscuts and cashews. [Cry]

(there were only about 4 triscuts in the box and about 10 cashews)

My favorite snack recently has been pistachios and a Cherry Coke. I also like peanut butter'd bananas.

Bob, Bob, Bob...
the key is not to think of it as WORK, but as ART. Or therapy, take your pic. Cooking can be FUN once you figure out what you're doing.

My recipe is
4 cups oats
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup coconut
3/4 cups honey
1/4 cup oil
1 tsp. vanilla

You can see the oil/honey/rolled oats proportions are right in there. I'd prefer nuts over coconut, I think. The thing I love is mixing it. I use these Salad claws my Inlaws bought me in Alaska. (They are made in china [Razz] ) I don't think I've actually used them for Salad.

:makes note to bring home made Granola to next clump party:

I have a recipe for a grape-nuts like substance as well that is very interesting.
